About Maple Street Dance Space
Maple Street DanceSpace is located at the SW corner of Central Ave & Maple Street, a few blocks east of the freeway, on the right. It is connected to Knadjians Carpets, and across the street from 66 Diner.
Maple Street DanceSpace is a unique studio where independent teachers of all kinds come to rent space and share their diverse classes. The studio is filled with an eclectic and exciting variety of dance and music classes that wont be found in other more traditional studios. Although there are many consistent on-going classes in the space, the schedule changes from time to time, reflecting the constantly evolving community of teachers not only from all over Albuquerque, but from all over the world in some cases! The space is ideal for classes, rehearsals, private lessons, and workshops. It is also available Saturday evenings as a casual and intimate, smoke-free venue for small performances & special events.
Rental Rates:
$19/hr plus $10/month cleaning fee, for on-going rentals.
Owned and operated by local dancer, Romy Keegan, who has lived and danced in Albuquerque all her life. Maple Street DanceSpace is on the SW corner of Central & Maple Street SE, attached to Knadjians Carpets. With its beautiful art work, hung on colorfully painted walls, the studio is nestled into the former carpet showroom. It has a sprung dance floor, two walls of mirrors that can be covered with curtains, and a modest sound system. (Many thanks to the hard work and asthetic vision of Rujeko Dumbutshena and Panjea Foundation, who are responsible for the original renovation of the space.)
For more information about renting the studio space for classes, rehearsals, meeting space, private lessons, workshops, or special events, please contact Romy through email: Romydancing@aol.com, or by phone: (505) 366-4982.
