Maple Street Dance Space Instructor: Romy Keegan 366-4982 Beginning African Dance. One of Romys greatest joys is opening the door for new students to the natural power and healing of African dance. Her beginning level classes are taught with careful intention to nurture and support dancers of all ages and abilities. Romy began learning the general movements, style, and basic steps in 1990, and continues her study to the present, through a variety of teachers from both the US and Africa. In addition to her classes at Maple Street, she also teaches private lessons, childrens classes & special workshops, throughout the year in public and private schools, as well as a variety of summer camps, including NM Jazz Workshop & Keshet Dance Co. & Full Circle Camp. Romy also enjoys expressing herself as a choreographer and performer. She has worked with several African Dance Troupes over the years, including African dance at the Zoo, Casadimanza, Blue Tribe Dance Co. & Ballet Kouyate.
