Artbox Albuquerque is an ongoing series of collaborative, interactive art installations featuring the work of Albuquerque based artists and community members. Founded in 2019 by local artists Lauren Coons and Leilani Ringkvist, Artbox Abq aims to create conversations about relevant topics in Albuquerque while fostering a community of creativity by showcasing a diverse collection of works in public spaces.
Artbox’s first and second exhibitions, “Spacious Skies”, and “Tree Being: Resilience”, is on display in the front door studio at Maple Street Dance Space! This exhibition features 13 works by 13 different artists in several different mediums including paint, photography, and woodworking. Each of these unique pieces is a response to the theme of skies and flight, or nature, ecology and resilience.
